TENS units are used for neuropathic pain. When an individual is so inflamed and unable to tolerate manual massage or an adjustment the most effective way to reduce pain is with the tens. The tens exhaust the energy that feed the cells in your muscle, therefore making the muscle relax and spasm cease.
